This fleece hoodie is made from "BANANA CLOTH," a fabric made by blending discarded banana stalks with cotton and spinning them into yarn.

The thick banana fiber thread is as strong as linen, making it a heavy-weight, sturdy fabric.
Made of durable fleece material with just the right amount of firmness, it can be worn for a long season.

The refreshing hand-drawn design on the front print matches an active lifestyle in natural environments such as the sea or mountains. The back design features the GOODFOOD logo as well as silver tableware consisting of a spoon, knife, and fork. Just like the three stars, these three pieces of silver tableware represent the three necessities of life: food, clothing, and shelter. Tableware, which everyone has touched, evokes the image of food.

*What is BANANA CLOTH?

Once a banana is harvested, it will not bear fruit again, and the stems are cut down to grow the next banana. The cut stems are usually either incinerated or left as they are. (It is said that while the annual harvest of bananas in the world is 150 million tons, as much as 1 billion tons is wasted.)

If they were incinerated, it would cause environmental damage, such as carbon dioxide emissions, and the stems that are left to rot would give off a foul odor and pollute groundwater and soil.

So, with the idea of somehow making use of bananas, a large part of which goes to waste, a yarn made from upcycled banana stalks was developed, and the fabric made from this is BANANA CLOTH.
It is said that only 2-3% of the waste can be used to make yarn, but based on estimates, it is thought that about 20 million tons can be harvested annually. It is expected that this will become a commonly used material as a natural fiber second only to cotton, which is produced at about 26 million tons per year.

Shipping costs nationwide are 800 yen (1,500 yen for Okinawa Prefecture).
In addition, for purchases over 10,000 yen, we will deliver your order free of charge nationwide .
